Senate District 20

Senator Dickerson: (R) Chair, Senate State & Local Government Committee, 1st Vice-Chair, Senate Ethics Committee, Member, Senate Education Committee. Senator Dickerson holds a questionable place in the senate, sponsoring 2 bills opposed by TLRC: SB16 legalizing gambling on sports, and SB1178, what is known as a "red-flag" bill, allowing the confiscation of firearms based on claims of instability or violence without real due process. The former passed and the latter got no traction. He co-sponsored the bill requiring a civics exam for HS graduation so there is hope. We would be pleased to discuss bills and issues with him in the future, to reach consensus on important causes and improve results all around. 2018: Sponsored no (0) bills supported by TLRC. Co-sponsored (0) bills supported by TLRC. Co-sponsored one (1) bill opposed by TLRC. Voted for the gas tax.
