House District 70

Rep. Clay Doggett (R) is a new member this session, coming in 2019. He serves as Vice-Chair, House Commerce Committee, Member: Business Subcommittee, Judiciary, and Criminal Justice Subcommittee. Chairman Doggett sponsored a good bill removing protecting our 2nd amendment rights that was favored by TLRC. (HB2536) It was doing fine in the house, passing through two committees, but was deferred in the senate, …which was a common theme this year. He also co-sponsored 13 of the 23 bills scored by TLRC. Rep. Doggett showed leadership with courageous, independent positions, earning an A for leadership combined with a 100% vote score. His high standards set a good example for his fellow members.

Rep. Doggett is married with three children. He is a small business owner. He serves as Majority Secretary of the House Republican Caucus. He is a member of the Giles Co. Chamber of Commerce, the Lawrence Co. Chamber of Commerce, the National Wild Turkey Federation, TN Firearms Association, National Rifle Association, Quail Forever, and Pulaski Civitan. He is a Board Member of the Giles Co. Youth Baseball and is on the Pulaski Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
