House District 16

Rep. Bill Dunn: (R) As a member of house leadership he holds no chairmanships but is a member of: Calendar & Rules Committee, Education, House Curriculum, Testing, & Innovation Subcommittee, Naming, Designating, & Private Acts Committee, Government Operations Committee, and Transportation Committee. He sponsored a bill that would treat all professional educator organizations equally but it failed in the senate. We encourage him to refile it in 2020 and we will work to get it passed. We suspect the rich and powerful TEA lobbied heavily against it. Leader Dunn co-sponsored 3 bills favored by TLRC. We enjoyed engaging with Leader Dunn and look forward to working with him in 2020. In 2018: Sponsored one (1) bill favored by TLRC: HB1770 which would limit the amount candidates could "loan" to their campaign on the premise that the "loans" are just on paper, but serve to discourage other candidates. It failed and was not brought back in 2019. Co-sponsored six (6) bills favored by TLRC and one bill opposed by TLRC. Co-sponsored and voted for the Gas Tax.
