TLRC statement

The fact that we even have to think about mRNA vaccines being put into our food supply is deeply troubling. And while this sounds like a bad sci-fi movie, we already know that there is a study coming out of UC Riverside working to grow lettuce carrying edible mRNA vaccine material.

This bill would make sure that any food carrying any such edible vaccine material is legally defined as and regulated as a “drug.” This distinction will protect consumers and avoid any potential confusion between actual food and foods carrying a pharmaceutical product.
