This legislation strengthens the integrity of Tennessee’s electoral process by ensuring that political contributions and campaign support come solely from domestic sources. By prohibiting foreign entities, or U.S.-based organizations funded by foreign sources, from contributing to political campaigns, the law safeguards elections from external influence and promotes transparency in political financing.
Additionally, the bill reinforces accountability by restricting the acceptance of foreign-funded contributions by key legislative and election officials. This measure upholds the principles of fair elections and enhances public trust in the democratic process.
