This bill extends by law certain mandatory school safety requirements to both public and private schools such as annual drills, threat assessments, requirements for hardening of school entrances, enhanced coordination with local law enforcement and other safety measures.
Additionally, the bill opens up $230 Million in the state budget for school safety including $140 Million for the placement of school resources officers (SRO) in both public and private schools.
