TLRC Statement on Bill

Will prohibit foreign ownership of real property in this state by nonresident aliens and foreign entities of countries on the US sanctions list.

Other states across the country are taking similar actions to protect themselves from dangerous foreign interests and possible security threats. Additionally, Texas Congressman Chip Roy recently introduced a bill to stop China and other nations from grabbing up land across the United States.

This bill is an opportunity to take a proactive step in our own state against these potential threats and Tennesseans will be better protected against foreign interests.
