HB 30 requires a person to obtain a valid adult entertainment permit from an adult-oriented establishment board, in those jurisdictions with a board, prior to promoting an adult cabaret performance at their venue or premise for compensation.
This bill also prohibits public, private, and commercial establishments from allowing persons under the age of 18 to attend a performance featuring adult cabaret entertainment.
Please note that this is a companion effort to House Bill 9 sponsored by Rep. Chris Todd. To protect our families and our children from obscene performances in public, we need both of these bills to pass. Unfortunately, as this bill failed in the Senate, it leaves opportunity for private businesses to hold potentially obscene and inappropriate events in the presence of minors.
