ON MARCH 8, 2021, THE SENATE COMPLETED THE THIRD READING OF SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2, AND ADOPTED SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2.

ON APRIL 26, 2021, THE HOUSE COMPLETED THE FIRST READING OF SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2.

ON APRIL 27, 2021, THE HOUSE COMPLETED THE SECOND READING OF SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2.

ON APRIL 29, 2021, THE HOUSE COMPLETED THE THIRD READING AND CONCURRED IN SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 2.

TLRC Position

TLRC supports this addition to our constitution. The right to work with or without affiliation to a union has been a positive factor in the fiscal wellness and environment of political freedom in Tennessee.

TLRC Observed Process

The third and final reading of this proposal got little resistance but was affirmed on a purely partisan basis with one exception; all Democrats plus Senator Gardenhire (R, Chattanooga) voting against the resolution.
